Jayapura – Wakil Gubernur (wagub) Sumatera Barat (Sumbar) Audy Joinaldy mewanti-wanti kontingen Sumbar agar mematuhi protokol kesehatan (Prokes) Covid-19.

Hal itu guna meminimalisir transmisi Corona Virus (Covid-19) yang belakangan merebak di arena PON XX Papua 2021 ini.

“Jangan sampai atlet-atlet kita terdampak penyebaran Covid-19 karena tentunya akan berdampak bagi kepentingan kontingen Sumbar sendiri. Jadi, adik-adik kita atlet tetap lah untuk selalu patuh pada protokol kesehatan,” kata Audy.

Audy juga meminta para pelatih dan ofisial tim juga melakukan hal serupa.

Bahkan, mereka diminta untuk menjadi contoh bagi atlet dalam hal penerapan protokol kesehatan.

“Para pelatih dan ofisial mesti menjadi tauladan untuk dicontoh atlet dalam hal penerapan protokol kesehatan. Mereka yang bisa mengontrol kegiatan atletnya, baik dalam berinteraksi dalam kelompok kecil maupun saat berkumpul dengan kontingen lain yang bisa saja interaksinya di mes ataupun venue,” kata Audy yang hampir sepekan berada di Papua memberikan dukungan untuk atlet.

PB PON juga diminta untuk memperketat protokol kesehatan menyusul terjangkitnya sejumlah atlet dan ofisial di pesta Olahraga paling akbar di Tanah Air itu.

Selama perhelatan PON XX Papua, protokol kesehatan masih abai diterapkan khsusunya para penonton. Hampir di setiap venue, meskipun sudah ada tanda batas jaga jarak di kursi penonton, namun tetap tidak diterapkan.

“Jadi, atas kondisi demikian, kami mewanti-wanti kontingen Sumbar jangan sampai ada yang terpapar Covid-19,” tutup Audy.
